The Prime Minister Divyasha Centre is a government initiative dedicated to providing high-quality assistive aids and appliances to persons with disabilities and senior citizens. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries are provided necessary equipment free of cost as per their needs. These appliances help reduce daily life difficulties, improve quality of life, and contribute to self-reliance.

The appliances provided may include wheelchairs, hearing aids, walking sticks, prosthetic limbs, walkers, and other assistive devices. The primary objective of this initiative is to help persons with disabilities and senior citizens lead a more empowered, self-reliant, and dignified life.

The Prime Minister Divyasha Centre operates under the National Portal for Assistive Technology (NPAT) and works to provide essential assistive aids and appliances to persons with disabilities and senior citizens across India. The objective of this initiative is to improve beneficiaries' quality of life, enhance their self-reliance, and ensure their active participation in society.

Our centre at DDRC Nagar is dedicated to providing eligible beneficiaries with the assistive devices they need. Through the centre, beneficiaries are offered guidance, registration assistance, eligibility verification, and services related to the distribution of various assistive aids.

Assistive Aids & Appliances for Senior Citizens

This scheme provides senior citizens aged 60 years and above with essential assistive aids and appliances to improve their daily mobility, safety, and self-reliance. These devices help improve movement, simplify daily tasks, and enhance quality of life.

  • Reaching Aids
  • Shower Chairs
  • Commode Chairs

These devices are made available to eligible senior citizens based on their needs, helping them gain greater self-reliance, safety, and quality of life.

Eligibility Criteria

To avail the Senior Citizens Assistive Aids & Appliances Scheme, applicants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • The applicant must be 60 years of age or above.
  • The applicant's annual income must be below the maximum limit prescribed by the government.
  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
  • The applicant must not have previously received benefit under the concerned scheme, or the government-prescribed period must have been completed.

  • Aadhar Card (Original & Photocopy)
  • Ration Card (Original & Photocopy)
  • Income Certificate (issued by Tahsildar)

Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities

This scheme provides various assistive aids and appliances to persons with 40% or more disability to help them become more self-reliant, capable, and active in their daily lives. These devices improve mobility, facilitate communication, and help enhance quality of life.

  • Pressure Relief Cushions
Eligibility Criteria

To avail the Assistive Aids & Appliances Scheme for Persons with Disabilities, applicants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • The applicant's disability must be 40% or more.
  • The disability must be registered in the UDID (Unique Disability ID) Card.
  • The applicant's annual income must be below the maximum limit prescribed by the government.
  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
  • The applicant must not have previously received benefit under the concerned scheme, or the government-prescribed period must have been completed.
  • There is no upper age limit for this scheme.

  • Disability Certificate
  • UDID Card (Unique Disability ID Card)
  • Income Certificate (issued by Talathi / Tahsildar / Corporator)

Note: All documents must be current, clear, and valid. Documents will be verified against relevant government records. Incomplete or incorrect information may result in rejection of the application.

Important Conditions & Rules

Beneficiaries must note the following conditions and rules while availing the scheme:

  • 1. One-Time Assistance Each eligible beneficiary may receive assistive aids and appliances only once, or after the government-prescribed interval, as per prevailing rules.
  • 2. Device Condition All devices are provided to beneficiaries in good working condition. The centre will not be held responsible for damage caused by misuse, negligence, or improper handling.
  • 3. Maintenance & Use The responsibility for regular maintenance, cleanliness, and proper use of the devices rests with the beneficiary.
  • 4. Income Limit The applicant's annual income must be below the income limit prescribed by the government.
  • 5. Age Requirement The applicant must meet the age criteria prescribed for the respective scheme.
  • 6. Document Verification All documents, information, and details submitted with the application will be verified against relevant government records. Applications with incorrect or misleading information may be cancelled.
  • 7. Transparent Selection Process Selection of beneficiaries will be based solely on eligibility criteria, required documents, and government rules. Full transparency will be maintained in the selection process.
